Navy Pier

12.05.07 | admin | In navy pier

According to the Chicago Hot Blog the city of Chicago is going to recognize Pearl Harbor Day this Friday, December 7 at Navy Pier beginning at 11 a.m. with a special ceremony.  This is to commemorate seven people from Illinois that died that day when Japan attacked the American  naval base in a preemptive strike during World War II.  Today we view preemptive strikes much differently than we did back when we were the target of one.  This event is free and open to the public.

There is also the annual Winter Wonderland at Navy Pier starting on that same day and going until January 6.  You can go for free but other attractions are not free.  Our taxes only pay for us to have some enjoyment but not too much.

And apparently the regularly scheduled fireworks will  go on rain or shine or snow as the case may be.
